On Sleep, The Bedroom, and Why Your Nervous System Deserves Better
Sleep Awareness Week (March 8-14) felt like the right moment for this conversation — and I was glad Forbes wanted to have it.
When Terri Williams reached out about designing a bedroom that actually supports sleep, the instinct was to talk about more than thread counts and blackout curtains. The bedroom is the room your nervous system relies on most. Light temperature, acoustic softness, natural materials, sightlines — these aren't aesthetic preferences. They're biological requirements your body is making whether or not you're aware of it.
The piece came out in March and it captures something I believe deeply: that a well-designed bedroom isn't a luxury upgrade. It's a health decision.
